On the Map Sheet

  1. Draw an arrow from any circle or diamond to any other circle, diamond, or square. .
  2. Either draw an arrow from your square to an existing circle or diamond, or draw a new circle or diamond and draw an arrow to it from your square.
  3. I think you're supposed to label both of those arrows right away, but I'm not certain.
  4. Any single circle that has arrows going to it from two different squares becomes a double circle. That means it's been upgraded from an Extra to a Feature. Pick one of: Money, Life, Status, Technology, Paranormal.

Money

  1. Add a new Distinction (recommended: Cosmopolitan, Connected, or Wealthy).
  2. Step up a Resource (an Extra or a Location).
  3. Step up a Relationship (with another Lead or a Feature).
  4. Go on to the Road stage. Pick one of: Ethical, Risky, or Straight & Narrow.

Life

  1. Step up two Relationships (with other Leads or Features), or one Relationship twice.
  2. Step up a Resource (an Extra or a Location).
  3. Go on to the Road stage. Pick one of: Lofty, Risky, or Straight & Narrow.

Status

  1. Step up a Distinction.
  2. Step up a Resource (an Extra or a Location).
  3. Step up a Relationship (with another Lead or a Feature).
  4. Go on to the Road stage. Pick one of: Underground, Lofty, or Straight & Narrow.

Technology

  1. Add an Ability with the Gear Limit.
  2. Add or step up a Distinction, or an Ability with the Gear Limit.
  3. Step up a Relationship (with another Lead or a Feature), an Asset (a Distinction or Ability), or a Resource (an Extra or a Location).
  4. # Go on to the Road stage. Pick one of: Underground, Lofty, or Ethical.

Paranormal

  1. Step up an Ability or Distinction, or add a new one.
  2. Step up a Heritage or Distinction, or add a new one.
  3. Step up a Relationship (with another Lead or a Feature).
