Encrypted Letter from Husain Soliman to Martin Locksley

M --

I've sent you what you need to your apartment. Please send me what I need. The more books I have, the easier it will be, and at the very least, we need the folio of instructions from the S.S. library.

If we get this, I think you will not have to see any of us ever again. Right now, L. is angry because of what you did to him in Asmara, and A. will do what he says. But, if we have what we need, L. is practical, and A. won't try to settle the score if L. doesn't tell him to.

P. knew when the source in Bangkok dried up. L. and I guessed, but he knew. And he knew S.S. must be dead. So, we knew the telegram was a fake. We're not stupid. We knew what must have happened.

But, it didn't matter to us. We didn't need to do anything about that. We knew she wanted to meet Dr. Cecil Walker, and I suppose if you believe in anything after death, we might have tried to arrange that. But, we didn't. We didn't try to bring him home either, but with S.S. dead, we knew he could make his way home. And, he did.

S.S.'s wishes ceased to matter to us when he died. But, we need certain things. P. thought he might find thm in Ethiopia, but he's isn't he? There is nothing for us there. And from what L. and A. say, I'm not sure there ever was anything for anyone except P. there.

So, we're pretty sure of what happened to P. and to anyone your people didn't like in Dallol. I could feel Its anger, even if I don't understand as well as P. did.

But, none of that mattered -- or matters -- to us. We just needed the books.

We don't need to bring anything to S.S. There isn't anything for us in Malta or Mexico City. I don't know if you killed Donovan or if Daniel Lowman did or if Diana Hantz or Victor Prescott did it or had someone else do it. I -don't care-. Maybe he killed himself, for all I know.

All I want is what I need to live and learn. L. wants a little more, because of what happened in Asmara, but as I said, if you give us what we need, he'll be reasonable. You won't ever see any of us again, and I hope we'll never see any of you. Your L. was very nice to me, and it would be sad if she got into another disagreement with A. after they decided they could leave each other alone.

Send what we need to Samson Trammel's lawyer. He will be able to get it to us. And, I'll d what I can to make sure you continue to get what you -- and J -- both need.

Some notes:

Husain sent Martin the Mi-Go brain fluid, under the mistaken impression that Martin needs it to keep his lover's brain alive. Understandably, no one told Husain that Martin cut a deal with Hastur, and now Jeremiah is walking around in what appears to be his own body.

Husain, Luc, and Alex want the folio S.S. used to create the Bangkok Mouth. Husain and Luc are Nectar addicts, and all the mouths they know of are gone.

Martin is the one who killed Montgomery Donovan.

What Martin doesn't know, though his player does, is that the man who worked with Alex to try to kidnap him in Ethiopia was actually Luc in disguise. As Martin got the man beaten up by a bar full of soldiers, Luc is irate.
