Revision as of 08:20, 30 April 2013
I recently played in a Larp that included a poetry mechanic. Limericks were specifically forbidden, so of course I have them on my mind and, well, this happened. I don't have enough distance from Reginald to feel confident about his, hence the multiple 5th lines. I'd appreciate some feedback on that one. Enjoy (if that's possible).

There once was a Martian princess
Flew about in a pure sable dress
Her foes she would smash
But to free up her cash
Required romantic success
There once was a swift noble Knight
Who brought darkest secrets to light
He was clever and crude
Insightful and rude
And a hell of a help in a fight
There once was a verdant haired lass
With a body of copper and brass
Though tiny in form
She's the mistress of storm
And a wellspring of infinite sass
There once was a girl unrefined
With a scalpel as sharp as her mind
She left most of her suitors
Feeling they needed tutors
With her Knight she can finally unwind
There once was a changeable chap
Followed his lord all over the map
For true love back he came
With a heavy new name
Our lass thinks him a lovable sap / But I told you all that in a rap / For his lady he's quite a sweet sap
There once was a terrible cad
Loved a princess who most thought was mad
Magic tarnished his name
'Til he banished his shame
But for her he would still be quite bad
