Quotes

We clearly need Sophronia here to put an element of gravity into the situation.

Gregory: Lord Farnsby, you've made a right hash of things, haven't you?

Victor: Later, Gregory. And I can't believe I am the one telling you this.

(Gregory is usually the one with the social graces, while Victor has the Aspect: Truth Before Tact.)

Victor: Tact, not his (Crehador's) strong point.

Bare Bones GM Notes

There were basically two stories this session, both drawn from the Cain / Godchild manga:

Who Killed Cock Robin: A slew of NPCs was introduced, most of whom wound up dead. So it goes. This took place in Pennsington lands, aka Reginald / Gregory's home.

  • Elsie Robbins, dead before the PCs arrived, 15-year-old. Victor nigh exploded wanting to get a chance to find out who died and how and whodunnit, but managed to wait until the Earl got around to telling the tale
  • Father Neil Robbins, priest, Elsie's grandfather, telling kids that if they're bad, the Black Angel will take them away. Disapproves of some of the Pennsington practices. Murdered a day after his granddaughter.
  • Alex, Linnet, and John, Elsie's friends. John survived and discovered he hadn't accidentally killed Elsie. He means it about Victor riding for free when he becomes a ship captain for proving this.
  • Professor Allan Lambert, the murderer, taken alive.
  • Alista Lambert, the professor's wife, firmly convinced she's better than her husband due to better breeding.
  • Earl Pennsington, aka Arthur Sage, Gregory's grandfather.
  • Leah Hunter, Reginald's sister.

Butterfly Bones:

  • Lord Leonard Farnsby, now twice a widower
  • Lady Elnora Farnsby, his second wife, who caused the suicide of the first and was going to poison her daughter
  • Tara O'Brien, the first wife, Irish actress, driven to suicide by a parrot trained by Lady Elnora
  • Leanna Farnsby, daughter of Leonard and Tara, sixteen
  • Emile, Lady Elnora's son by her first husband, fourteen, killed his mother because he loves Leanna
  • Sophie Farnsby, Leonard's mother, aided and abetted Elnora
  • Marquess Carmarthen, son of the 7th Duke of Leeds -- the Farnsbys and Pennsingtons are descended from the 3rd Duke of Leeds, so there's a whole complex family tree and all -- who set Emile up to kill Elnora. As he didn't appear in session, no one can ask him why.
  • Dominic Crehador, the medium. A month ago, he did a seance which resulted in Leanna getting possessed by Tara's spirit until the seance he did in game. He and Gregory don't like each other. Actually, Dominic doesn't like aristocrats in general. He does know people who claim to talk to Martians.
