Pathway

Origin

Origin: Alien/Metahuman

  • New circle: (is ashamed of→) Bella Blackwater 2d4
  • Step up Duty d6 and Truth d6
  • Add Heritage: Palladion d4
  • Step up Distinction: Palladion d6
  • Add Distinction: Metahuman Knowledge d4

Story: Boadicea is the daughter of Bella Blackwater, a retired supervillain, a palladion, one of an ancient lineage of superhumans. Bella's not sure who Bo's father is (hey, the '90s were a wild time). Bo isn't told about her mom's past, or where the money they live off of came from, but mom sure has a lot of books, magazine clippings, and such about metahumans.

Youth

Youth: Paragon (with Outsider story elements)

  • New diamond: (hangs out at→) Art museum 2d4
  • Add Distinction: Backhanded d4
  • Add Distinction: Willful d4
  • Step up Heritage: Palladion d8

Story: (Note: I'm using the Paragon step for the Outsider story. They both link to the Paranormal slot in Focus, so I don't see it making much difference. I'd just rather have another Distinction then step up a Location.) Bo's mother was a bit stand-offish, not wanting to get close to other parents, and this affected how the other kids treated Bo. She was never really accepted by the other kids, always thought of as a bit weird. She compensated by developing a cynical shell. She discovered the visual arts, and hung out a lot at the local art museum.

Palladion Heritage

Ancient lineage of super-warriors. Their weakness is the mysterious metal orichalcum --- they can't break it, and they're not invulnerable to orichalcum weapons.

  • d4: Earn a Plot Point when Abilities are Shutdown by orichalcum, or when you Choose to have lack of control over Abilities cause trouble. (I don't expect orichalcum to be as common as kryptonite was in Smallville, so I added the lack-of-control thing.)
  • d8: Add a d6 to the Trouble pool to use a Special Effect from a connected Ability you don't have.
  • d12: Spend a Plot Point to Reroll any die in a Test or Contest that includes one of your Ability dice.
  • Connected Abilities: Super-Strength, Invulnerability, Flight, Regeneration, Healing. (Might add another Ability or two.)
  • Limits: Orichalcum.
