Important Details of 1894

  • Bram Stoker fictionalized a LOT. Do NOT take the novel as canon. Heck, even the dates were changed.
  • Edom tried to lure Dracula to England to imprison him and use him to create supersoldiers. This did not go well.
  • Edom is run by the spirit of Sir John Dee. The Rt. Hon. Sebastian Wimsey is trying to take it over and reform it.
  • Dracula was not the first vampire Dee tried to use, nor was Edom the first organization he created.
  • There was no Lucy Westenra, no Quincy Morris, no Arthur Godalming, no Mina Murray. Dracula does not have "brides".
  • There was an Abraham van Helsing, an institutionalized madman with cropped ears. In actuality, he is Edward Kelly, a medium who worked for Dee in the 16th century. He no longer does.
  • There was a Dr. John Seward who ran St. Ignatius's Home for the Mentally Weary. He did Dee's very, very dirty work.
  • "Jonathan Harker" was Immanuel Hildescheim. "Mina" was actually an acronym, "MINA", for the organization Hildescheim worked for. He was spying on Edom, masquerading as an Englishman working for same.
  • "Peter Hawkins" was Owen Renfield, killed by Dracula when escorting "Harker" to England. (Ironically, both Dracula and Renfield were trying to protect Hildescheim from Edom, so this death was due to misunderstanding on Dracula's part.)
  • Most of the rest is covered by a cast list.

Dracula: He was originally Nicolaus Olahus, Archbishop of Esztergom, Primate of Hungary

George Stoker: Bram Stoker's brother, vessel for Sir John Dee, the closest thing to Stoker's Renfield

Gabriel Arthur Godolphin Osborne: battle scarred nobleman, closest thing to Stoker's Arthur

Earnest Renfield: Owen's brother. Like Owen, ultimately rejected Edom and stayed loyal to his family

Roxana Renfield: Earnest's wife, taken by the faeries and joined by Earnest

Edgar Renfield: Their son, remained behind to watch over the family home and faeries

Liesl Rosenzweig: Immanuel Hildescheim's cousin, psychiatrist, colleague of Sigmund Freud, sort of a combination of Stoker's Seward and Stoker's Van Helsing, piqued Dracula's interest

Sebastian Wimsey: Nobleman and consulting detective who learned of Edom's existence and determined to take it over from within

Herman Sager: Closest thing to Stoker's Quincy, a German potter and explosives expert who traveled with Buffalo Bill for a time. Roxana's half brother, helping to raise his nephew. Became a protege of Van Helsing.

Juliette Parton: Ex-fiance of Sebastian, broke off their engagement when he had her brother arrested. Subsequently engaged to Gabriel. Closest to some combination of Stoker's Lucy Westenra and Mina Murray. Victim of Count De Ville (actually Johann Jakob Ringler), but recovered, mostly, after his death.

Ruthie Craven: Roxana's younger sister, victim of Carmilla. Still alive, but Carmilla is as well.

Beatrice Patrick, aka Mrs. Pat: Famous actress, victim of Count De Ville, but recovered when he died. Friends with the best artists of her day.

Gertrude Bell: Competent agent of Edom.
