September 1: Expedition personnel gather in NYC
September 3: Announcement that J. B. Douglas will captain the S. S. Gabrielle
September 4: Lexington Expedition announced
September 6: Papers report the murder of J. B. Douglas. Carlsson visits The Purple Cup, gets anonymous warning.
September 7: Captain Vredenburg hired. Stiles and Pembroke visit Brackman. Pembroke speaks with Moore.
September 8: Douglas' funeral. Pembroke and Carlsson speak with Douglas' brother, and journalist does an article on it. Stiles tries to visit Lexington and rescues Roerich. Fire at the dock warehouse in the evening forces a delay in depature for the SME. Lexington's ship, the Tallahasse, sails at night.
September 9: Departure date for S. S. Gabrielle and SME is now set for September 11.
September 11: S. S. Gabrielle sails from NYC.
