Joyce's Note to Lillian
From RPGS surrounding the Labcats
Dearest Lillian, I fear I have done you a great harm. I know now that I cannot prevent you from going into the darkness--for you already inhabit it, beautiful as a dark star, radiating power. I thought I was unique because in Kenya I saw the true nature of humanity revealed, all its masks stripped away. But now I know that you have always seen us like this. The more fool I forgot recognizing it. For your gift lies in knowing what humans are and still embracing them, loving them imperfect as they are. Even the monsters. (over) I can only hope that one day you will find me a worthy ally, who will stand against those who fill the dark with terror. For that I was so long an exile from the light, I failed to see one who walks in it without fear, or need for anything else. She walks in beauty, like the night of cloudless climes and starry skies And all that's best of dark and bright, Meets in her aspect and her eyes. Faithfully yours, Josephine A. Summers
