From RPGS surrounding the Labcats

Victor tried to find out how long Abraham Tallow had been drugging horses for Lord Dashingham, and did this by bribing Tallow's boys, but then stole back the money, though not the purse, hoping they'd fight amongst themselves. The Lip confronted him, asking what game Campion was playing. Victor assured the Lip that it was all Victor's doing, and that Tallow was not going to be in a position to bother anyone. The Lip suggested Campion steer clear of the streets for a while.

Victor: Power vacuum?

This was correct. Victor also enlisted The Lip and his gang to locate John Murray.

Sophronia visited Cousin Talos and his maker, Leon, and found Leon with a man named Herman, making mechanical legs. Herman doesn't quite approve of Sophronia, and doesn't want her telling anyone about the two anachronists' activities. Sophronia wonders if she will get more cousins.

Michael Doyle visited Alice at the Kerberos Club.

Victor: How did you find us?

Michael: I just went to the place that everyone says I shouldn't go to.

Victor: Well done!

The thirteen-year-old wants to help. The group trusts him a lot more than a lot of other people.

Esther Rose was not pleased that Alice had gone to the races -- without her! So, Alice invited her to a seance.

Uriah Clarence passed away following a heart attack, apparently. His original doctor, Dr. Butler, was on vacation. The second doctor, recommended by Victor, had taken ill. So, he was attended by a third doctor, a more or less competent, but not wealthy doctor, open to bribery and corruption.

Victor managed to acquire the body, while Sophronia enlisted the services of the medium Dominick Creahador to do a seance. Abraham did not approve, but did attend.

Abraham Lincoln's expense account: Budget for entertainment, ghost stories, illusionist.

The spirit of Uriah possessed Esther Rose. He was finally convinced that he was murdered by the people he was serving. He named the Marquess of Carmarthen, but has no idea whether the Marquess's pet doctor is the same person as Doctor Butler (which means either it wasn't or he was in disguise, as Dr. Butler examined Clarence thoroughly, several times. Victor's betting on the disguise explanation, I think).

Uriah was utterly unrepentant and was dismissed. Lincoln paid Crehador with some disdain, which did not go unnoticed by Crehador.

Esther Rose was revived and asked what happened.

Sophronia: You were Cleopatra!

Esther Rose believed her.

Esther Rose (several times) _I_ was Cleopatra!

Victor did not bother to return the body. He had Angelina Durless examine it, and assisted, pointing out the blueness of the toenails and so on. In other words, yes, Uriah Clarence had been poisoned.

Meanwhile, Abraham and Sophronia have been working to get Angelina and Victor together in a romantic way, while Alice has been trying to make sure that doesn't happen. Alice spoke to Victor, who agreed that he wanted to make sure that Angelina doesn't get the wrong idea. Alice is convinced Victor is incapable of love.

Abraham Lincoln decided to convince Lord Durless to allow Angelina to go to a proper medical school. Did Lord Durless perhaps play cards?

I'd prepped a couple of scenarios, so naturally, a lead was accidentally created to one I had not prepped. But, I could easily run the beginning, so yes, yes there was a game. Victor attended in disguise as a French lord, aiming to be someone unmemorable.

Lincoln: You are always memorable, Victor.

Victor: Yes, Abraham, that's why it's called a disguise.

Alice came disguised as Alec Campion. Sophronia came invisibly.

Victor won the Loo game, which included:

  • Winning a gold watch
  • Agreeing to return it to its own and pick up a check for its value on the morrow
  • Refusing to call it a draw and split the pot with the reverend who was the last person still in on the last hand. This is rather rude behavior on Victor's part, but so it goes.

The next session will likely pick up as the game ends. In addition to the aftermath of the game, the agenda includes:

1. Find third doctor.

Someone: John Pertwee?

2. Marquess and poison to track down

3. Victor: search Dr. Butler's place
