Martin's Ethiopia Letter to Samson Trammel
Samson,
Forgive the hysteria in these letters -- I've been dealing with too many Doomsday Aliens and may be more than a little drunk. I just wanted to tell you -- don't trust the voices in your head. The Fisher From Outside isn't Nyarlathotep (whoops, I wrote his name I might have gotten his attention). You've got more than one voice in your head and I can't stop you if you want to worship Narly -- I guess if you're going to worship he seems as good a god as any -- but he's not the Fisher, he's not the maker of Nectar and the mouths, and you should probably know that (or at least I figure you'd want to know it. You care about these things.)
I can't imagine you'll believe me -- you have no reason to believe me over the voices in your head, I guess. But you've been kind to me even when I was -- when I am -- hurting the things you believe in.
(And neither of us care about what's good or what's right but you care about your god -- and I probably do owe you one, or at least I owe you this.)
Be well,
Martin
