On the Map Sheet

  1. Drawn an arrow back to any Lead square from any other shape on the map, and label it. (If one of your fellow players left an Extra, Location, or Feature without a connection back to their own Lead square, this step gives you an opportunity to define that connection for them.)

On Your Character Sheet

Pick one of: Risky, Straight & Narrow, Lofty, Underground, Ethical.

Risky

  1. Think about:
    • Have your actions ever gotten you, or someone close to you, seriously hurt or in trouble with the law?
    • Have you gambled it all, knowing that failure would mean a future living in a van down by the river?
    • Have your actions caused friends or family to completely disassociate with you?
  2. Step up one of Glory or Power.
  3. Add a new Distinction or step up a Distinction or Heritage.
  4. Step up a Resource (an Extra or a Location).
  5. Step up a Relationship (with another Lead or a Feature), an Asset (a Distinction or Ability), or a Resource (an Extra or a Location).
  6. Go on to Life-Changing Event. Pick any one.

Straight & Narrow

  1. Think about:
    • Is your record so clean you’ve never had so much as a speeding ticket?

  4. Step up a Relationship (with another Lead or a Feature).

  6. Go on to Life-Changing Event. Pick any one.

Lofty

  1. Think about:
    • Does the volunteer section of your résumé outweigh your job experience?
    • Do you use your loftiness as a cover for a deeper, darker truth?
    • Have others, inspired by your action, placed you on a pedestal? Or perhaps you put yourself there?
  2. Step up one of Glory or Truth.

Underground

  1. Think about:
    • Are there thugs out there that owe you favors?
    • Is your cell phone like a skeleton key? All those numbers in there can open any door.
    • If there’s an antiestablishment network within 100 miles, you probably have a contact in it.
  2. Step up one of Justice or Truth.
  3. Add a new Distinction or step up a Distinction or Heritage.
  4. Step up a Relationship (with another Lead or a Feature).
  5. Step up a Relationship (with another Lead or a Feature), an Asset (a Distinction or Ability), or a Resource (an Extra or a Location).
  6. Go on to Life-Changing Event. Pick any one.

Ethical

  1. Think about:
    • Is your motto “truth, integrity, and respect”?
    • While some people see the world as a rainbow of challenges and questions, do you see it as a black and white reality of right and wrong?
    • What do you hope to ultimately gain from your ethical means?
  2. Step up one of Justice or Love.
